Ok! This is a message from both Paige and Sandee. We are going to mix things up a bit. We are going to do a argument on an issue that we decide. Our issue is: Kill or Don't Kill (bugs or animals)?
First we will hear from Sandee.
Hey! Ok, ok. I say DO NOT kill ANYTHING. It's just wrong to kill anything at all. I disagree with killing the smallest of creatures such as a spider. If a bug is in your room, you would kill it, I bet. I, on the other hand, would simply grab a scrap piece of paper on the floor and scoop up the spider. Then I would bring it outside. People would argue with me by saying, "It was in MY room, it's not theirs." Technically, it is their room and home. Your house is on THEIR house. I say we should at least treat them fairly.
Another thing I want to discuss is: hunting. I am sooooo against it. People just shoot a LIVING creature and stuff it on their wall. For decoration!!! A dead animal is considered a decoration, or a piece of clothing?! Lame. WRONG! I made a promise to myself that I would NEVER kill a living thing, unless it is for a good purpose. In the scriptures, a commandment is: 'Thou shalt not kill.' I try my best to follow the ten commandments. This is just what I do. I want to follow my promise. Killing is not a solution. It does nothing for you. Being friends with nature I feel happier and more free. I like having another friend by my side.

Paige Terner here! I disagree with Sandee. I say kill with CAUTION. Only bugs and SOME animals. If there's a spider or fly or any other bug in my room, I kill it. I don't say "I will never kill it because it will hurt the environment" I say "oh gross a bug!" Sure, I have once or twice said "Well I'll let it live! It's so tiny/harmless." But if it's big or harmful, it is GONE!
Hunting: So controversial. My views: It Depends. Killing for decoration? Wrong. I'm not passionate about that though. If someone likes the look of a dead animal in their house then fine. It's their house I won't fight against it. However, I won't kill an animal for decor or anything like that. In the scriptures everyone did what? Hunt for food. That is perfectly okay. If I was stuck in the wild without any food, I would hunt! Plus, I like steak! I am so fine with people killing animals for food.
-Paige Terner-
This is Sandee again. Since Paige kind of responded to me, I will respond to her. The food thing is fine. I mean... who doesn't like steak? Haha. Like I said in my promise, it's for a good reason. That is fine. Killing for no reason, is not ok with me. So, yeah.

I like that you girls are thinking seriously! A few more questions to ponder:
ReplyDeleteIf you believe in killing only when absolutely necessary, why are you ok with eating meat when we no longer are forced to hunt for survival? Millions of animals each year are raised just to be killed. Is it ok because it's convenient? Because we can't see it being done? Or is it moral because we like the taste?
Of course if one needs to hunt to survive, that's a different case, but what about the rest of us?
I really do not know. I will consider that with more thought. Thank you! I was thinking of going vegitarian for a week or two with Paige. We will consider it. I have been trying to decide if being vegitarian is OK for me. I don't know how to explain my thoughts. But thank you for asking questions. It gets me thinking!
