Be yourself. Don't follow people because you want to impress them or it 'looks cool'. Do it all for yourself. Don't wear really tight clothes because your best friend wears it. Or don't watch a show you know you won't enjoy just because it's the 'new thing'. Do things to have fun! You can still be with your friends and have a great time yourself. Introduce your favorites to others. It could be a new hobby for them. Do it for you. It's not selfish. It's yourself.

True! Although I would add that sometimes we can take this concept too far. Even though we should pursue our own interests and not pretend to like things we don't, we shouldn't let ourselves become intolerant or rude and call it "honesty."
